With a diversity of scientific interests, the Carson-Newman biology faculty offer a wide range of courses to give you extensive preparation for your biology career. The Nicholas School boasts proximity to marine, forest and mountain ecosystems, along with its location in the Research Triangle and its world-class facilities and research centers.

UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE

The University of Tennessee Medical Center offers a Medical Laboratory Science Program in conjunction with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This 50-week nationally accredited certificate program trains students to become professionals who work in clinical labs.

MARINE BIOLOGY

Study marine biology at Carson-Newman through the University of Southern Mississippi’s Summer Field Program via the School of Ocean Science and Engineering. Located at the Gulf Coast Research Lab (GCRL), on-site amenities include research vessels, dormitory, dining hall, research labs, library and a specimen museum. Classes are extremely intense and immerse you in the subject matter.

AMERICAN EAGLE FOUNDATION

Carson-Newman has formed a new partnership with the American Eagle Foundation, located in Sevierville, TN. The AEF’s three pillars are conservation, education and protection. From bald eagles and falcons to owls and vultures, students in our Wildlife Ecology program will have opportunities to work with these amazing birds in the near future!
